CATALOG is a Boston based startup that is leading the field of DNA-based data storage and computation. In the age of AI, energy consumption is the most important problem in the computing industry. DNA-based computing technologies promises to be a key solution to that problem by employing mechanisms evolved over billions of years of evolution. 

We are seeking an accomplished Sales Director who lives to sell new technology to early adopter customers. This position demands both a willingness to learn new concepts and technology, as well as the practical abilities to forge and execute sales tactics for groundbreaking products, in various of the stages of development.  

In this capacity, you will: 

  

  • Spearhead our efforts to secure initial sales and build a strong sales framework from these engagements. 

  • Comprehend and communicate complex concepts, connecting with potential customers on upcoming product offerings, and converting them to sales. 

  • Partner with internal teams to craft and implement sales strategies for our nascent, technology-driven products. 

  • Create and manage a CRM that is viewable by internal stakeholders 

  • Design and adjust pricing models, establishing metrics to track their effectiveness. 

  • Grow to lead a sales team  

  

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  

  • Proven history of success in working independently, creating all necessary sales material. 

  • Proven history of success in sales of new technologies. 

  • Developed networks of early adopters, including governmental organizations, consulting firms, innovation departments, and academic institutions that can be engaged and converted to sales. 

  • Strategic insight necessary to develop sales and pricing strategies for emerging products. 

  • Ability to understand and articulate the features of highly innovative products at their developmental stage. 

  • Experience in working with governmental groups to prepare RFPs and demonstrable experience with successful RFP responses. 

  • Experience selling state of the art computing hardware technology 

  • Experience in developing terms and conditions for service and support agreements 

  • Experience working with press and analysts for creating compelling messaging narratives. 

  • A minimum of 5 years in roles focused on sales, business development, and strategic partnerships, which must include that of new hardware.
