We are seeking an IT Specialist to help with our growing IT infrastructure. This role is pivotal in managing and overseeing CATALOG's IT infrastructure, ensuring high standards of security, efficiency, and innovation. The IT Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of Information technology for a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment. This role is responsible for managing existing IT equipment and software, aligning IT spend with business objectives, and ensuring a consistent level of quality and service. This role will work directly with an outsourced managed service provider, establishing service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring all SLAs are met and consistently improved. In addition to managing vendors, the IT Specialist will need to communicate and work effectively with colleagues across the organization to meet targets and expectations for customer service and support performance. This is a hands-on role with time spent addressing service tickets as well as managing internal and external computing resources.

In this role you will:
  • Oversee the management of CATALOG’s IT infrastructure, including on-premises custom-built devices, offsite servers at colocation data centers, and data & compute resources in public cloud platforms.
  • Implement and administer network and security policies in line with industrial standards to safeguard all IT operations.
  • Manage productivity platforms (Microsoft 365, Box, GitHub, Jira, Slack, etc.) and employee’s computer devices (both Windows and Mac).
  • Oversee the cost management of public cloud platforms until the DevOps team assumes responsibility.
  • Champion industry best practices in network and cybersecurity administration, setting a high standard for the organization's IT operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment to understand IT requirements and provide steadfast support, ensuring alignment of all IT investments.
  • Manage IT service contractors to ensure high-quality implementation of critical IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Onboard new team members and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the IT team.
We are seeking someone with the following background:
  • 3+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure administration, supporting end-users with computing hardware, software, and networking protocols.
  • Combination of academic degree, practical experience, and interpersonal skills required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position in a professional manner.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, virtualization technologies, server hardware, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Experiencing securing and managing Azure or other high availability environments.
  • Practical experience implementing security and disaster recovery policies.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting and supporting PCs, Macs, AV equipment, and other technology services.
  • Experience with Active Directory is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft MTA.
