DNA, known for its millennia-long stability, unrivaled information density, and cost-effective replicability, offers revolutionary potential for latency-tolerant high-density data storage and massively parallel computation. We're seeking a motivated Systems Software Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team.

In this role, you will:

● Design, implement, and maintain robust cloud-based solutions tailored to bioinformatics applications

● Lead R&D activities for creating innovative, scalable cloud infrastructure for processing large-scale data

● Transform bioinformatics requirements into functional, efficient, cloud-based software tools

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement software tools and assess end-to-end platform performance

● Analyze project outcomes, present findings, and suggest strategies to both internal and external stakeholders

● Continuously keep abreast of developments in bioinformatics and cloud technologies for potential innovation

We are seeking someone with expertise in the following domains:

● Extensive experience in cloud systems engineering for major cloud platforms like Azure/AWS

● Proficiency in programming and specification languages used in cloud environments, including python and C/C++

● Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes

● Solid understanding of cloud technologies and architectural tradeoffs with experience in designing cloud pipelines

● Familiarity with scalability and system performance challenges and solutions in cloud environments

● Experience translating bioinformatics needs into practical cloud-based solutions

● Familiarity with DevOps practices and automated testing techniques is a plus

We are looking for someone with:

● A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related field, coupled with at least 1-2 years of industry experience in cloud systems engineering; startup experience especially preferred

● Broad experience in cloud system design, implementation, and staying current with technology trends in the bioinformatics sector
